Questions about auto to zf6 swap
For context I am swapping a zf6 from a 2000 xl or XLT to a 99 lariat. Both are PSD.
Driveshaft. Does it need to be shortened? I have seen one post about it throughout my reading. Is that just something I'll find out when everything is installed?
Transfer case. I have an esof transfer case, which I like. Exactly how involved is swapping the input shaft? The case on the donor truck is a manual shift which I'm not opposed to it'll just cost more. Also would I need a transmission harness for a zf6 with esof transfer case? Is it more hassle than it's worth? Like I said I'm not opposed to a manual case I just prefer esof.
Also, I have heard about running jumper wires on plugs so the truck will run. Is that necessary if I use the trans harness and pcm from the donor truck?
I thought I had a couple more questions, I'm sure I'll think of them. I'd appreciate some insight on these questions.
