1964 292 thermostat
Hi
would you mind telling me what degree stat you use for you 64 f100 v8 292
Mine has a 195 in it but temp does not get above 160
engine was rebuilt and runs great just not sure why it doesnt get above 160

Check the temperature at the thermostat housing with a laser thermometer.
An accurate gauge with the sender in the stock location will indicate about 15 to 20 degrees cooler because coolant still has to travel over the combustion chambers. My bet is that it is a combination of the gauge being inaccurate and this 15 to 20 degree difference and everything is probably fine.
