I'm thinking of getting a new wiring harness for my 1962 f250 4x4. I have a few questions first. Are they for the most part plug n play? Who makes a good one? Are the wires pre marked for where they go? Will they include a fuse box? How long can I reasonably expect , once I start, for the job to take? Any advice is appreciated...Bob
My 66 came with a partially installed Painless kit. After finding the schematics online it went fairly smooth finishing the install and fixing some PO half *** mistakes. Be sure to get quality crimpers and a good soldering iron. No butt connectors. Heat shrink everything.
I'm sure there are direct factory replacements available that would be plug and play if keeping the truck stock. The Painless and similar kits are more universal and geared toward more custom rigs. They also upgrade to a more modern fuse box with blade fuses. The wires are well labeled but it does take a lot of time.
