Tie Rod Ends & Ball Joints: Selection, Removal, Replacement, & Tools Required
What do y'all think about Moog steering parts for our trucks? My truck started knocking when I hit bumps and what have you after my wreck. I got under the truck, and come to find out the tie rod end on that side got knocked loose, or so I thought. Turns out all my tie rod connections are loose and it's time for new tie rods and tie rod ends. Anyway I got to looking around and Moog has a kit that comes with both tie rods, new tie rod connection joints, tie rod ends and upper and lower ball joints for $480. Are they any good? If not what brand do you all recommend?

Not happy with Moog for the last several years. Ive been using XRF parts for these trucks.
So what do I need to do ball joints on these trucks? Do I need to get a ball joint puller/press set from a auto parts store or would it be better to just order my own kit online? Is there a certain type of puller set I need? I've never done ball joints before if you couldn't tell
I think you posted the same thing. There were two links in my previous post, one of them being this press.
Oh they were so close together it looked like one! So I need $140 worth of tools to do my ball joints? Oh well it is what it is it'll be a one-time purchase anyway

Yeah unfortunately. But then he with the most tools wins.
Tristan, some box stores like O’Riely’s, Advanced, etc will loan you the press kit tool - just have to leave a credit card for insurance if that will help your budget. Just inspect the kit before leaving the store. Not all kits have the same adapters so if your karma is like mine you will need the adapter that’s not in the kit requiring some creative thinking.
