Diesel must be the big seller. I'll stick with gas though.

Each has its place and if you need a diesel then you need a diesel and the gas engine just won't do.
Some just want it.
I'm in the need it category, high miles and high towing demands.

I'm not a betting man, but if I were I'd lay odds that within 20 posts this becomes another gas vs diesel threads.

The numbers are skewed because dealers stock diesel trucks 8:1 on the lot vs gas trucks and always try to upsell a diesel to anyone that just wants to tow their pontoon to the lake once a month. Diesels are a bigger profit margin for dealers, and HUGE cash cows for them on the service side of it. Plus the whole “compensation” thing that sells a ton of them…Keeping up with the Jones’s, etc…

Yup. I’ll put a $10 on it.

I think Ltngdrvr called it on this one. Purchase what you need, or want. It's up to you. I've just got back from a 800 mile trip in my son's 6.2L F-250 and it was a great drive. We tow our 22' enclosed with this truck. I handle the fifth wheel duty with a diesel.

I got a 7.3 because it will handle my current and future RV (under 10k). Honestly if I was towing more than 10-12k. I would have gotten a diesel or when my warranty runs out just Pro Charge my 7.3 and call it a day.

I bought a diesel only to show off to others. I don't even like it. But other people see my 6.7 badge and it's worth the $8k. Or so the story goes.

Great data, I bet fleet is more gas than diesel, They mostly look at cheapest cost to purchase.

Gas is narrowing the gap for sure. On the consumer side. Gas is just more logical for most people, and yes I have a diesel
