Hey there everyone! My name's Zen, and I just purchased a 1977 F250 4x4 Flatbed out here in the Catskill Mountains. I love these old trucks, and never thought I'd be able to find one this soon. I am not a mechanic by trade but I am very eager to learn. I got a Haynes and Chilton Manual for it, and I intend to study up a bit and then just wrench away and learn. Is there anyone near the village of Catskill? I'd love to get to know folks out here, and I'm also willing to travel of course too.
Ha! Yeah I'm waiting to order some sills, and I just got a bunch of other parts in the other day. Been busy with life but hoping to get some work done on the truck this week despite the rain in the forecast.
I know the area your in - my mother lived in Cherry Valley for a few years back in the late 80's. My brother is in Cooperstown (we're all originally from Long Island).
That truck is very cool - looks like the front axle is the same as the highboy - those hubs are Warns. If they were original, you'd have the big huge chrome hubs with the red handles - I think
It's not a divorced transfer case, right? It's right on the end of the transmission?
