Just joined I just bought a new 2021 F350 6.7 L Power Stroke crew cab 4X4 long bed. I have two dmax Silveradows diesels. Long story bought a used 2005 6.0 Power Stroke F350 4X4 after wrecking my 2004 Silverado 3500 dmax.
Anyway it only had 50,000 miles on it when I bought it, had issue after issue spent about $4,000 on that engine then it blew up in Mississippi exhaust valve broke and broke the piston. We were towing out 36 foot 5th RV back from wintering in Texas. Place we were towed to gave me options I got a new complete engine in it at a complete cost of $17,000.
I said I would never get another Ford as long as I lived. Well was at the Ford dealer getting an oil change and walked into the show room the sales man asked is that your white F350 I said yes he said it is nice want to trade it. Anyway long story they had their last 2021 F350 for the year he made me a deal I could not turn down so got the new 2021 F350 6.7 L Super Duty crew can 4X4 long bed. So much for never buying a Ford again I sure hope it serves me better than that 6.0 did.
I tow a pontoon boat and 36 foot 5th wheel may go to from PA to Texas this winter again depending on the pandemic and my Leukemia treatments. So here is hopeing this new Ford gives me no issues.
Welcome to FTE. The 6.0 one of the last International Harvester engines Ford used, had it's issues. It started out in the negative, trying to replace the venerable 7.3 to start with.
All that said, Ford spent a lot of time developing their own diesel. So far, most of the reports are pretty good. If you click on the "forums" box, at the top left of your screen, you'll see a drop down of various subjects. Pop in there and check with the other folks running the newer trucks
Well another PA member I am from Harrisburg but have a seasonal RV site at Raystown Lake spend most of my spring, summer up here love to fish. We had wintered in south Texas 10 years but Agent Orange gave me Acute Leukemia so we were stuck in PA last two winters. I was given 3 months to live 4 years ago without a stem cell transplant. Happy to say my older brother was a perfect stem cell match and he donated his stem cells so still ticking but still take chemo pills daily. So far I love the 2021 F350 going back to the ford dealer this afternoon. Tomorrow morning they are transferring my trailer saver 5th hitch, transfer flow in bed diesel tank and bed cover from the old 2005 F350 to the new 2021 F350. Sure hope my clearance for the 5th is the same the sides of this truck bed seems like it may be higher.
No way to know hope to try hooking the 5th up Wed or Thursday to check clearances keeping the fingers crossed.
Welcome to FTE and enjoy your time with us. There are plenty of things here to check out and good people to talk with. Don't forget to scroll to the bottom of the forums and check out your State Chapter.
