My 1960 Ford F-100 is on The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel

I was contacted by some folks from the producers office from the show The Marvelous Mrs Maisel. They just started up production for season 4 and they needed a stock 1960 pickup truck for a scene being filmed about 2 hour drive from my house. I sent photos and they selected my 1960 Ford F-100
I got to the set at 6:30 am, and after I positioned my truck, I was told to wait until the wrap filming up at the end of the day.

Your truck looks great! It has 11 bales x 60lb = 660# in it?

Depends on the hay. In my cowboy days three wire alfalfa was 16 bales to the ton. Movie hay could weigh less. Looks like the back is down a little to me though.

The interesting thing here is that I did not try to get my truck on the show. I was emailed out of the blue by someone who was searching for a 1960 pickup for the show. They said they found me through my subscription to Hemmings. Next I needed to send photos for the producers to review. They selected my truck and I was told the date of the shot and to be on set at 6:30 am. It was filmed on estate in Old Westbury NY - a two-hour trip from my home. Once I got to the set and parked my truck in the position they needed I was free to roam around the set until they wrapped things up at 7PM. BTW - I unloaded all the hay bales myself because I would have been there all night waiting for the folks on set to remove them.
All in all - it was an interesting experience, they fed everyone well and generally the people on set were all friendly. The downside: was the waiting around. I do not think I'd do this again unless they were filming closer to where I live.
Look for Season 4 episode 5 when it's available. That's the episode where you'll see my truck.

Here's when they were filming.

Just a prop on the set.

Yeah! I may have to hire an agent for the shows that need a 1960 F-100. During breaks there were a few folks on the set asking about the truck and LOVED our body style of trucks.

Since I unloaded the truck at the end of the day, I'd would say they were or very very close to 60lbs.

You never know , you could be asked again for a bigger part, just don't let them put it in a Fast and Furious sequel or you might end up with a parts truck...lol

lucky for you. Grass hays and oat hay weigh less and two wire bales. Miss having horses but not the hay loading.

Hopefully they compensated you for your day and useage of that truck! 4hr drive included, you certainly earned a nice showing for our orphan years body style. Repetition gives more recognition. Good job!

Marvelous, simply Marvelous. Some people will remember that.

I have seen every episode of the show. Will be looking for your truck when this episode airs.
