So I'm having the typical fuel tank switch valve issues, think I have something of a handle on those. But the truck has been running fine.
Until last night. After driving it all day I went out to start it to get some dinner and ... nothing. She cranks, but doesn't start. Neither the front nor rear tank pumps are priming.
Went out this morning and jumpered the inertia switch, still no joy (I should note, she'll start with fuel squirted down the intake boot, just no joy off the pumps). It's nearly inconceivable to me that all THREE pumps decided to ***** the bed at the same time so clearly it's an electrical issue.
My guess is one of the fusible links up off the solenoid or possibly the tank switch on the dash. Here's the rub. One of my kids borrowed and lost my multimeter and I don't have a wiring diagram.
Does anyone know which one of those links it might be?
This is a bit of a priority because currently (hit a deer in the wife's car and it's still being repaired) the only vehicle we have.
Certainly an electrical issue. I had a similar issue with my '89 years ago and in a pinch, I jumped the main power feed (I think the wire is yellow colored) to the wire (cannot remember wire color off the top of my head) that feeds the fuel pumps at the fuel pump relay to get home.
I would check and see if the fuel pump relay is clicking when you turn the key forward. If it isn't clicking, start there.
