Just got in from a weekend in Orlando.
We went to City Walk, Islands of Adventure and Universal Studios. Wife still thinks I am insane but she admitted she had a good time. Little man did too. He got to finally meet Spider-Man at Universal.
As we were walking in I said so what did you say about not going to Orlando?
Back to reality now.
The caddy roll bar was delivered yesterday so I now have everything I need to repair the mom in-laws escalade. I got the new rear differential cleaned and painted. I also changed the oil and installed a new cover gasket. Going to bring the rear diff sometime this week and maybe get started dropping the old one this weekend.

Well it's all over. Yesterday I turned in my keys and the cell phone. I went back this morning and got my roll around and the rear differential for the mom in-laws Escalade. Dropped the diff off at the house and then took my roll around to my new job today. My wife and son got to meet my new boss. Orientation is on Monday and then start working on Tuesday.
I have painted the ford floor, my fiance and I also went and took the tx mandated gun class and training course for our licenses to carry, and we got a good deal on a gun from the instructions that could retail right now for about 900.
Tomorrow morning I will be scuffing the paint to final coat with a bedliner, and then I will be scheduling guys to come help me stab the cab to the frame.\
May not be doing to transmission for a while. With things the way they are and work being slow, im thinking about keeping the money Id spend on the rebuild and ride out the next month or so.
Chief glad you got everything moved. I just hope your body does not remind you that you are close to 60 now and it doesn't like hard work any more. Mine does it very often.
We are getting a new 12x28 portable building that will be used for our woodshop. It has lofted storage on both ends. We still have to finish the shop I built. That will be storage for lawn mower weedeater etc. Also use it to store our bulk wood. We are going to build our upper cabinets and going to build a small corner china cabinet. I finding it easier to work with wood then wrench. plus Debra enjoys it
Thanks for reminding me I am getting old!
I figure that I worked on CAT equipment a little over 2 years ago and this should be a lot easier. I work on all my stuff here so not much different other than I will be getting paid for it. Now that my OPM retirement kicked in I can do something I enjoy and not chasing money.
Going to start pulling the old diff on the caddy once it warms up a little.
July I hit the magic 62 and get my regular retirement not medical. Dont know how much my check is going up OPM will not tell me yet maybe they will no that I am within 6 months
Drove the wife to get some Emu eggs today, pretty much filled the whole day. Mom in-law has a vehicle to drive so it's not an emergency to repair the Escalade anyway. Start the new job tomorrow, very excited and a little nervous.
