I Have a 2001 Expedition 4.6l v8 triton. Having trouble finding a new or used Triton. Can I fit a 2001 f150 4.6l v8 in mine??
Yes, they are a direct fit, just need to make sure that you try to get the same vin code, there is a vin W and a vin 6. 6 is a Windsor engine, W is a Romeo engine. Essentially the same, except for timing covers, valve covers, cams and drivetrain are slightly different. My 98 expedition was a Romeo 4.6, and I couldn’t find a good used one, but bought a used Windsor 4.6, bolted straight in, ran perfect!

:And I also hear that I can fit a say 04' 4.6? I saw a post where someone said that the 4.6l v8 is the same from 99'-04' or somewhere around those yes.

The interchange is what it is, but I have seen engines from 1994 crown vics put into an F150 with the correct truck manifolds, the basic block is the same, the heads changed in 01ish to the Pi heads, and they gained a few hp, no reason any 2v 4.6, even one from a newer e-series van wouldn’t fit with the correct manifolds.
