I attached the volt meter to the battery and got an intermitten 7a drain that would last about 10 seconds. I could hear a click coming from the rear wiper and the meter would read a little over 7amps then another click and it would go back to normal. It does this repeatedly and I do not have it on. What do I need to replace? 2003 Expedition
TIA!
Does the rear wiper function? The only time I have had a drain on them is when they seize up and won’t park correctly, if it doesn’t see the park position, they will drain the battery.
If you open the hatch glass, can you move the wiper arm freely? Like it's not bound up with shaft corrosion. If you find that the shaft is seized up you can buy a replacement part on Amazon.
If the wiper arm moves freely then you have a wiper motor issue.
You can pull fuse #1 to kill power to the rear wiper motor. But that will also kill your front wiper and instrument cluster. Other option is to pull the rear liftgate interior panel and unplug the motor till you replace it. It's a common failure item on the Expeditions and Navigators.
Thanks for your help.
Not sure if it works but dont think so, I inherited this vehicle and have been working on it trying to get it rolling as a secondary vehicle for work.

Remove the wiper arm and see if the issues goes away. If it does the arm was installed in the wrong position...keeping the motor from reaching the park position.
