I bought this 1953 ford f-100 a couple of months ago from the original owners grandson. The truck started it's humble life as a farm truck in Sonoma county Ca. on a farm that is now part on a large winery .The truck is pretty much rust free, original and had been stored for 40 years until a year ago when the grandson decided to sell it . He he got registered licensed and road worthy.I was told it had a matching numbers engine in it but later found out it has a rebuilt power pak flathead engine from Automotive Engineering in Oakland Ca.I don't when that was done but the engine runs really nicely.Shows 78,000 miles on the odometer. The oil filter was gone when I got it and I have heard that they used run these engines without one and it was no problem . I would like to get a stock set up back on the truck tho. I just made the racks and matching bed from some salvaged yellow pine . Trying to keep it original as it's a real survivor.
Thanks to the forum all the good info here!

Eureka, I'm glad you figured out how to post pictures. Thanks for that and some background on the truck.
I kind of like that green color. What is it called?.
If I had a three truck garage (and no wife) I'd buy a Meadow Green 53 with a flathead.
I think eureka is Greek for "I found it!" And you certainly found it. That truck is in great shape! Being stored for 40 years certainly helps plus being from a dry area helps too. My truck sat out side and was used hard on Grandpa's farm.
Keep us posted and updated .... even if you don't have much to post. We like pictures.

I believe according to the color code on the glove it's just a faded original Meadow Green .
