Hi Ford folks,
I have a 56' F100 with 61' FE 390 and Cruise-o-matic., upgraded low and forward front springs with sway new sway bar kit. What have you folks done to create more clearance between the axel and the oil pan front sump. The axel crosses the oil pan at the approx. mid-point of oil pan length. I haver seen oil pans with a front and rear sump that might work but not for the FE 390 engine, including oil pick up, dip stick, etc. Thanks ahead of time.
Thanks for the info. I did locate a Canton oil pan at CJ Pony, $500 + when it's in stock. That might be my only option since I'm not a fabricator. Time for some real precise measurements. Thanks again.
Don't forget about clearance for the tie rod. That might create clearance issues with rear or dual sump oil pans. It's the low and forward springs that are creating an issue with a front sump oil pan. I looked at those springs for about a minute, then realized all the issues they might cause with the 390 in my 1956 F100.
