1987 460 ci Timing cover leak

Have an older RV with a great running 460 ci ...timing cover started a leak right before planning to leave for a trip. I don't have time before the scheduled vacation to do the water pump timing cover assemblies. Any thoughts? Can I re-torque the timing cover to specs and temporarily control the leak? What are the torque specification 15 to 25 lbs?

Those are a pain because as you know you have to strip down the entire front of the engine!
I would def try to tighten just be careful not to push the gaskets out anymore or it will leak more!
What year is the engine?
