Need a donor car for my 59 f100 4x4. All original except 302 motor
Came with a 292, a 302 was put in before I got it. The brakes are so trashed and I’m looking to put some better components on it to be safer on the road. Still has closed knuckle axles.
What would be be a good donor car for a full brake system and power steering?

I would also like to know what donor car would be a good upgrade for brakes on a 59 4x4? I don't think you will ever find one. You might try searching this forum for disc brake conversion for the front, I know its been done but don't recall if it was on a front drive axle. Plus if your looking to replace the engine, any 292,272 or 312 should pretty much bolt right in with the correct engine mounts.

Your also judging the factory brake setup based on your trashed current brakes. My 60 F250 4x4 has 38.5x15x16.5 super swamper tires and factory drum brakes, non power. My brakes have been completely rebuild with factory pieces and they work fine. I dont't drive it 65 mph in bumper to bumper traffic, I drive it like it has big tires and 1960 brake technology.
