51 rear end question
Have a leaking pinion seal, I got a new seal, speedie sleve, and a gasket. The manual shows gasket,oil slinger,seal. All the parts books show slinger,gasket,seal. Where does this gasket go, infront of oil slinger or behind it ? Thanks

I don't have access to any of my books at the moment, so I'm working exclusively from memory. If this is the original Dana 44, I'm wanting to think that all I had to do was pull the yoke off, take out the seal, and put in a new one. I don't remember there being a slinger or the need for any kind of a gasket. Is this truck bigger than an F-1? Does it have the original rear axle? Do you know what kind of axle it is?
