I would point out that both the 5.0L V8 coyote in the F150 and the 3.0L V6 in the new Explorer and Lincoln Aviator also put out 400lbft of torque.
The _option_ for a manual transmission is one of the things that I think could help this new Bronco make the same appeal that the original did, back when it was marketed as the Mustang for off roaders -- and making it a 7 speed would let Ford one-up the competition (literally and metaphorically).
