Axle grinding noise when hot
Been a while since I posted anything on here. I have an F250 08, with 4.10 LS axles.when I have been driving for 50 or so miles I get a grinding noise and the truck shudders when I make a tight turn. It is more pronounced with a load and no matter what it does not do it when going straight or when I only drive a short distance. I have thought maybe the grease is breaking down when hot, or maybe the limited slip is going out. Any ideas would be appreciated.

It sure sounds like your limited slip to me, not saying it's bad yet, but only doing it when turning is the key. My 03 expy does it quite loudly, and my 03 250 does it, not as loud, my 06 350 doesn't do it at all, only real difference is the fluid and modifier used in them. The 06 was just rebuilt and has synthetic with modifier in it, the other two 03's has synthetic without the modifier, it was added seperatly. I would recommend you change fluid, inspect what you drain out, and go from there.
