Well in Sept 2016 (2017 year release) I bought a lariat ultimate and did not go with the led upgrade and for the past year I would see the led running lights on other trucks and thought, not for me. I even thought, Maybe I should have waited to trade in my 2011 and should not have bought the first one off the rail. I was one of the first in the DFW area to be sporting a 2017 f250.
Well fast forward to this week and the numbers worked and I have a f250 with the led’s and Wow! Wish I would have done it sooner. Guys do not try and upgrade, try and trade out and get the full package. LEDs in the tail lights, license plate lights...high beams..they are insane. Worth every penny. I would for go the leather for the led’s.
Don’t hate me now...I am now one one of those happy Led snobs.
i bought a F450 XL off the lot. Had a nice package in it but no LEDs. I wish it did but am thinking that an add on package would be good enough. Just want the hi/low beams and tail lights done anyway. Suggestions?

I got these and I love them. Way better then stock on my XLT. I can’t compare to factory led because I haven’t drove one.
I'm now a week out after ordering backup light LEDs from Headlight Revolution. Not one update. No idea when or if they're coming.
All I see on the order status page is "awaiting shipment". Not impressed at this point.

The LED package was the only reason I ordered mine versus buying off the lot. When I went to buy my truck, every F250 available with LEDs also had the panoramic roof, and that roof was a no-go dealbreaker to me. Love the LEDs. There's a post above showing some aftermarket bulbs with braided flaps for heat-sinks. I would recommend getting bulbs that have built-in cooling fans. Installed a pair on my motorcycle 2 years ago and I'm loving those, too.
I told my dealer that if they couldn't source me a truck with LED's it would be a deal breaker. I wasn't in the mood to start altering a truck right off the lot if it's something that could be done at the factory and under warranty.

Factory LED headlights will always provide superior lighting than those which have been switched from halogen bulbs to LED bulbs. LED bulbs and halogen bulbs emit their light very differently, and it's the reflector's job to disperse that light forward. With the factory LEDs, you also get the reflectors that were designed for them. Just changing the bulbs is a compromise. Granted, there is a fair amount of improvement to be had as I found when switching the bulbs on my motorcycle, but it still pales in comparison to the factory LEDs. Plus, you get those cool C-shaped LED surrounds with the factory LEDs.
My new truck has the LED's and they are a huge improvement. My wife has a '17 Explorer with them, so I need I'd be happy. The headlights are great, but I was equally as happy to see all of the lights are now LED...and the fog lights match the headlights.
BTW, if/when you buy an ESP, you may want to opt in for the additional LED coverage. I did so if any go bad, Ford replaces them. Also opted for the 1st-day car loaner so I'll have something to drive while they're repairing/replacing any LED failure.
IN the extra warrenty all is covered, in the service plan, only the headlight LEDs are not. Ebpverything else is covered. The Lariat ultimate I bought off another lot included the LED, in Canada, it's an option they can add, and most dealers are adding them up here. I couldn't be happier they are really good. Luckily, I knew how important this was to my order at the time thanks to this forum.
