Iwana flattie. I have to like LMC I don't know where you live but when I go to KC I can go over and actually hold the part in my hand and that means a lot to me. Also if you need to return a part they are very good at working with us. With any parts vendor on some parts we are going to get cheap china crap not all parts but that is just the way it is as all vendors or should I say most buy from the same distributors but like Mallory listed there are many. I have never bought from Mac's so know nothing about them.
Good Luck

I have bought from MidFifty and LMC.
I think MidFifty has lower shipping costs.

I have had good luck with LMC, Mac's and Dennis Carpenter. Any minor issues were all resolved. Some repro parts don't fit well - but they don't make them themselves and our trucks were built at about ten different plants whose suppliers kind of made things their own ways at times. Very few repro parts are perfect. But it beats having none at all or re-using you old worn out battered ones.

Mac's Antique Auto Parts (Lockport NY) is probably no worse than anyone else, because all the repro parts (except Carpenter's weatherstrips) are made in China.

Since you live in CA: Blue Oval Truck Parts (Anaheim); Truck & Car Shop (Orange); C & G Ford Parts (Escondido); Early Ford Store (San Dimas-also has NOS & used parts); National Parts Depot (Ventura); Sacramento Vintage Ford.

Mid Fifty (Kingman AZ); LMC (Lenexa KS); Dennis Carpenter (Concord NC).

About you wiper question. Both my 54 and 55 trucks are standard cabs, plain Janes. But both have the optional electric wipers and I am glad they do. I well remember going up a hill with my Dad in his 48 Chevy with the wipers working only when he shifted!

Some guys here have put in electric wipers from other vehicles, a Jeep wiper I think, some used. Hopefully one who did it will chip in here.

I love the people at MidFifty either them or Chucks trucks for basic OE parts. I ordered from him and had parts cost less than other people. Midfifty is my first choice.

There are a surprising number of sources for most anything you need. Learn how to use the search tool for this forum. Just enter the part that you need and you will be surprised what you find.

Some of the best sources have been entered above but Speedway Motors, JEGS, NPD and CPP are a few more that I have used.

As I have read various posts over the years I have bookmarked by component category sources that have been provided by all the knowledgable people here on FTE. You will be surprised how long the list will get.

When there is no source for various parts several of us have come up with ways to make these parts. We have shared the "How To" instructions with pictures and sometimes CAD drawings.

Good luck. Search first but if you can't find what you need just ask.

Wipers I'm running stock vac they work great in the summer here in California and I won't be in the rain(winter) if I can help it. Vacuum fits just about perfect, my defrost is not in the way it was a tight fit for the Dakota gauge buy it got in
But if your on the coast elect maybe better fog
