Question about what plugs to use in EFI head.

I am using a 94 300 block and head to repower a 3/4 ton and will be using a Offenhauser DP manifold with a 390 CFM Holly carb. Plan on using a 84 Durospark dist with this but because of the way the combustion chamber is made I suspect that I will need to run the spark plugs made for that year engine (Autolight 5125) , longer electrode as apposed the the plugs for the 84 (Autolight45) in order to reach by the heart shaped combustion chamber. Am I correct in thinking this is the way to go? Thanks for any guidance.

Longer plug electrodes are better, but not exactly for the reason you described. The longer plug puts the flame initiation closer to the center on the charge mass and promotes faster burn. Dyno tests I've seen showed increased burn rate with longer plug electrodes.
