Sterring gear box in a 1978 ford pickup

I am in the process of rebuilding a sterring gear box and I am on the spoll shaft and it has ball bearings that exploded I want to now if the ball bearings are solid on this or if theyou are free to roll around

Two different P/S gear boxes. Is your truck 2WD or 4WD?
