1988 F250 460...emissions tube (picture)
1988 F250 7.5L (460) reg cab long bed, XLT Lariet, auto C6, 4x4.
Can anyone recommend where to find the emissions tube depicted in the photos? I've checked LMC and didn't see it. Checked ebay and didn't see it. Other than going to the local Ford dealership...? Junk yard?

That's one of the AIR system tubes, for injecting air into the exhaust stream to help with emissions.
I don't know of any aftermarket suppliers of it. Some dealers might still have a few lying around, but it's likely a junkyard part.

Follow-up question...
Is the air injection tube a compression style fitting where it enters the manifold? When I first disassembled this I thought it was broken. Then after describing it to a friend he suggested it was a compression style fitting. I just want to make sure I'm understanding this fitting correctly.
Also, why do you suppose Ford would choose this method of connecting the air injection tube? Why not a flare style fitting?

I see the tube (9B449) you need at lower left. There are two of these tubes, it appears you need the left (drivers) side.
btw: These tubes are very hard to remove, because usually, when you turn the wrench on the fitting, the tube twists, then splits apart.
Note: The 9J470 metric fitting shown in the pic does not come with the tube. It's available from Ford, but no dealer in AK has any.
