swapping it out

does anyone know if it's possible or how difficult it is to swap out a F150 1992 4.9 V6 for a F150 2002 5.7 V8? will it fit? how will it work w/ all the computers and stuff? any ideas or comments?

In 92, they only had an I6. 4.9(300ci). The V8's offered in 2002 are 4.6 and 5.4. Not a recommended swap. The trannies won't bolt up, the frames are different and alot of madifications will have to be done just to bolt the engine in. The 92 wasn't OBD II controled and I am not sure id anybody even makes an OBD II computer for the 4.9.
Either way you swap, it isn't worth the time or money to convert it either way.
If you are looking to V* the 92, Get a 5.0 or 5.8 from a early 90's donor truck with all of the wiring, computer, tranny ect.

It would be cheaper to buy a replacement engine rather than try to convert everything over. I would sell the free engine and use the money to buy the direct replacement.
