Aftermarket Sealed Outer Tie Rod Ends. Do they Exist?

I have a 1985 F150 RWD. I've been looking for an alternative to (at least in Canada), to the Motorcraft tie rod ends. As my local dealerships etc say they have been discontinued. Leaving me with having to find NOS, or after market. Does such a thing exist, aftermarket sealed tie rod ends?

I'm fully aware of alternatives like the grease-able moog brand. I've read in the past, as a lurker on here. About how most prefer grease-able type over sealed. Pros and cons of each. I'm looking for what I perceive (correctly or not), as what will be least amount of maintenance for my weekend truck.

Just get the grease type and don't grease them.

The sealed ones are still open at the bolt up side were dirt & water can get in just like the grease type.
Only thing is the grease type when you grease them pushes the dirt & water out to prolong the need to change them.

Rock Auto (sorry) has them. Under the Mevotech name. Never heard of them before, so don't know quality.

More Information for MEVOTECH GES2078LT

I would have to agree with Fuzz, with grease fittings, you can push all the old grease and dirt (and water) out to make then last longer.

You get what you pay for and the Mevotech at that price, doesn't sound good.

Excuse my ignorance. Rock Auto = Bad?

RockAuto buys closeouts, returns, etc, from retailers, OE manufacturers, etc. Most things are OK.

Please forgive my stupidity. How does having a grease fitting on the tierod make it more of a maintaince issue than without one?

Only in that, to my very limited understanding. That if it has the grease fitting, to make it last longer. You should be flushing it with new grease.

At the end of the day, I don't know first hand. My opinion is solely derived from reading forums. Working on this truck of mine, is my way of learning.

So if I end up getting sealed ones, they end up lasting me a year. I might as well go with the grease-able. That's my lesson to bare.

Heck you are under the truck to grease the ball joints how much harder is it to pump a little grease into 4 tie rod ends?

I see it harder to pull out the jack & stands to get the truck off the ground to grease the ball joints than grease the tie rods.

Don't forget the Ujoints need grease too. Then again they could be sealed so no fittings.

Truly my ignorance. My knowledge base isn't in mechanics. So i'll have a steep learning curve. Dave I do appreciate the insight.

It's all good we are here to help and if people learn great.

I just think if doing other PM on the truck then greasing tie rods is not that big a deal.

Nothing wrong with Mevotech, I've been using it for 10+ years and I have yet to have reason to spring for Moog over Mevotech, and their warranty is now the same as Moog on some stuff.
As for greasable vs non, on Ujoints, it makes sense to buy the non greasable ones if you dont plan on greasing them as nons are sealed better(at least Spicer ones anyhow.)
For steering joints I'm not sure it makes any real difference.

I have never seen a difference on seals between grease/non-grease.

The thing I can tell you between the grease/non-grease is the non-grease is a little stronger and why we use them for drag racing.
The reason why they are stronger is the center is not drilled out for grease.

I ended up ordering the two outer tie rod ends I need. Went with Motorcraft, paid an arm and a leg, comparatively.

On Spicer Life Series U-Joints the non greasable are definitely sealed tighter than the greasable, they have a third seal per cap vs the greasable's 2

I guess I have never seen a Life Series joint to know that.
