So I'm calling out all experts or anyone with experience doing this carburetor swap. I just bought a Holley 2300 (500 cfm) with manual choke for my 302 bronco. What I want to know is:
1) timing- Do i need to make any timing adjustments?
2) vacuum ports- my current 2150 only has the distributor and the pcv connected to the carb. Is there anything else i need to connect? The 2300 holey has 3 vacuum ports one is the big one on the "rear" and two smaller one on the sides, but as I've read one of these small ports is full vacuum and the other is variable.... What kind of vacuum does the dizzy (stock vacuum advance DS II) need or require....please any help would be great.
The stock dist usually used ported or as you call it "variable". It's just no vacuum at idle, manifold vacuum above idle rpm.
If you are happy with the timing the way it is now, I would not mess with it. That's not to say some improvements could be had by adjusting it, but it's all experimental when you start changing things around.
You should have some other vacuum stuff but it's probably connected to the intake manifold correct?

Yes there are several other vacuum lines connected to the manifold (brake booster, tranny , etc)
Yep just what Franklin said.
You may find you will need to fine tune the 2300, jets, power valve, acceleration pump cam & squirter.
It is easy and parts easy to get at local speed shops or like Summit Racing.
