I have a 6" lift with 37" tires and I'm wanting to go back down. My thought is dropping to a 2" lift and maybe 33s. If I'm correct, that lowers it 6" because I only lose half the hieght of the tires. Is that assumption correct?
My other question is can I reuse the U bolts in the rear or is that not recommended?
Thanks!

Go down to stock rear and 2" level upfront and you'll fit 33's fine
Thanks fellas. I started wondering about that after I posted the original question. When I originally had it lifted, I had to put traction bars to help with the axle wrap. Guess I won't be needing those any more.
why not.. they will help with axle wrap without a lift as well.
I don't recall having any prior to lifting it. Who knows? Maybe I'll keep them onI wish I would've left the lift alone now. Sure did look good though. Guess I just grew out of it. That and I don't need the ground clearance any more. Pretty much a pavement princess except for the occasional gravel road with a six pack. i guess they look kinda cool though.
35" tires and a 2" level in the front still looks great. Bed is low enough to be useful and doesn't require two men to get heavy stuff into the back.
can you see yourself getting into the truck at 65.. carrying a step stool isn't an option!
You're right there! The way I feel, I need a step stool now and I'm 46. Your comments make a lot of sense. I may go that route. It'll make it easier to work on too.
Everything I have ever read says do not reuse u-bolts. They are cheap enough to err on the side of caution.
It seems as if I've heard that before but wasn't sure. Just curious as to why though, other than being too long or too short. I'm planning on replacing them but I got to wondering if it was a necessity or not.
Thanks
