Guys I need some help , I am retro modding a 54 f100 with a 4.6 engine and trans from a 2006 markViii can anyone help me to understand what it would take to use the rear end out of this car and install it is a independent drive with axle shafts
Look on a facebook page called 53-56 F100 Crown Vic suspension swap. some people on that page have done the swap. They sell a kit to do the swap search it up. I don't remember the site that sells it.
Either or will work depending on your budget. With the Crown vic IFS you would have to run a mustang type of wheel in front. A +offset like a 35mm and a 16 inch wheel or greater. A mustang II suspension the variety off wheels is a lot more options.

Not sure what you've got Mark VIII's were produced from 1992 to 1998? They had 4.6 DOHC engines, a 4 Speed Automatic Over Drive (AOD) Transmission and a Independent Rear Suspension (IRS).
Pleanty of Folks have installed the IRS and 4.6 in all configurations 2V, 3V & 4V in their trucks. If you use a 03-11 Crown Vic Independent Front Suspension (IFS) the 4.6 engine will bolt into the Cradle. OBTW any Panther Platform Vehicle's cradle will work. The hard part is the electronics. But again, several have sucessfully accomplished thew install.
