Hey y'all....check it out. I updated my gallery so you could see that I wasn't lying about having a truck
She's not perfect, but she's an old farm truck from Clayton, In. and I'm sure earned those scars. You're fooled by the pics tho' because she doesn't look too bad. Except the wagon wheels. Why do all old trucks have wagon wheels!!? DOH!
Shane, are the wheels in the one picture(they don't have any tires on 'em) the original ones? Because those are what I took off my truck to go back to stock. I'm not sure if you realize the hubcap "grippers" are on the inside of bolt center. If you still decide to go with 'em I got two in the garage if you want 'em. The truck looks very nice! The black interior looks very cool(if only the outside matched the bill)! The wagon wheels don't look to bad. Could you hint us as of whats the next step? -4speed( I heard that George, but I'm going to need your assistance in the future so I'll lay off)
Hey don't be a dissn those wagon wheels! Those aren't close to being wagon wheels. Wagon wheels will only fit on hubs. I brought my first truck home on wagon wheels. The truck didn't have any wheels so I stole all four off an old grain cart.
George - I know, I'm not wild on the paint job. It's kool, but not original. She should be Goldenrod and I mean inside and out! I don't think I could handle all of that.....maybe in Kandy Pagan Gold! ha ha ha!!!!
4speed - Those, as far as I know, are the original steels. Still have the white paint on them (altho' the one has been painted a brighter white) These have the 3 nubs on the outside of the bolt circle, but I know that the caps fit on in the inside. I thought they held on by friction? I tried to get one on, but it's too tight a fit and won't go on. These are supposed to be off a '57 F100. Do you ahve a pic of the "originals" I could see? Now you have me all upset and worried!!!
If you want to get rid of those wheels let me know! The 2 I have are marked 15x5, but are 7" rim to rim. Are yours all the same size? (The old ones) in the one pic it looks like you have a larger F250 cap on the rgt front.
If you, or anyone, has a good definitive pic of a correct for '60 factory wheel (w/out the cap on), I'd like to see it to make sure what's what.
Nice Truck Sixoh, The green 60,s are multiplying fast, Well yours and 4Speed are two tone w/white. Whats the deal with the different places and ways the two colors are applied on these trucks? Outside AND In? I at first did not like the Turqouis Green on my truck, but its grown on me, And my Color code does call for the Solid Green. But then my Intierior has white on it? I like the More Green on your truck, some have more white. I couldn't get ride of the white on the Flatbed and front bumper of mine fast enough. Would love to get a nice chrome front bumper. Will you be doing your grill in chrome. or will you just paint it? These trucks really do look great with all the chrome shineing, One look at the front of 4Speeds truck says it all.
P.S. I agree about the golden rod!! This is one time that breaking the color code is definetly called for
After thinking about it for a few months, I have decided to repaint the grill and bumper white. I like the basic "no chrome/all business" look of that.
4Speed remembers the original owner of this truck - this isn't her first appearance on FTE. I think the previous owners bit off more than they could chew, but we've all done that!
The interior was painted black w/rattle can by the other-OTHER owner. Prob to get rid of the "TIME TO WAKE UP!!!!" yellow, but it's chipping now. So is the bed: it's red, black, dark green, yellow and white!
Instead of the Voodoo Doll, I shoulda named the truck "Chips Ahoy"!
