1935 ford truck steering wheel repair
I am almost finished restoring my 35 ford truck, but my steering wheel is almost hopeless, actually i would rather replace it with a better one, anybody have a spare steering wheel for a truck, interchange i think is 34?/35 to 39. has to be the truck 4 spoke type, also anyone know who is reproducing floor mats for the 35 pickup or truck, or what can be made to fit without to much hassle. thanks, Jess

If your steering wheel is straight you can repair it with an epoxy paste from POR 15 or equivilant. You might want to make some templates to follow the original contour. Clean it, then sand off the outer layer of oxidized bakelite. Clean out the cracks then start work with the paste. Work it into place, scrape off the excess. Let it set up then file and sand. Enamel it and you're done. It takes lots of practice and even more patience. Remember, if you don't use enough, you can rough it up and add some more.
