Body coming off the frame... What else to do

Well, body is coming up to get at some major engine work (heads). If that else is worth it to do while its being worked on?

General rust checks and protection. Maybe drop the tank shield and hitch, clean and coat them and the frame areas around them. Hell, if I had my frame accessible like that, I'd love to media blast and paint what I could.

Blown head gaskets.

I'm thinking maybe the body bushings as they were dry rotting some, but I'm out here in AZ so rust etc isn't a concern.

Pictures will be taken.... Yes I am going to be in pain for awhile on this one. Feel sick over it already.

Check over all the body mounts, just makes sense to replace them while the body is off anyway. If you don't have exhaust, now would be a great time to throw one on as well.

As already mentioned, checking for any rust and addressing it now would be ideal. Personally, even though you're in AZ, I would use the opportunity to POR-15 or similar the entire underbody and possibly the frame to have peace of mind and extra insurance down the road against unwanted metal mutation from rust.

Front mounts are gone so those are on the list. Gonna roll it out and pressure wash it in the am. It doesn't have a spot of rust, AZ original truck.

Wish I'd have done body mounts while my body was off. Already was almost 6 grand into it at that point and I let it go. Of course now they squeak.

Not only that but the heads will be off the block for any broken stud work. Ideal!
I would go crazy (and broke) cleaning and detailing that frame in this situation! New brake lines, body mounts, and.....and....and....
