Ok, so you know our rear latch handle, the black trim around it? Like so many of us I'm sure, mine is looking sorry. Thought I would ask you guys for best suggestions as to refreshing it.
My idea was to wet sand it in place and repaint it. Does that sound like a good idea?
Any suggestions as to what kind of paint / clear coat to use on her?
It's plastic so you should use a primer or a paint designed for plastic. I don't think you can ever get it to look factory new again (shinny plastic). YES it can be rhino lined , find the resent thread " I'm going to get another letter ". He rhino lined the whole truck in the drive way .

Biscuit boy...... I like the sound of that in an odd way......
Juan post a pic!! I'd love to see it!
I'm wonder what grit sand paper I should use on that...... wet sand it with 400 grit sound like a good idea?
I have some of that Trim and Bumper Paint figured I'd give it 1 or 2 coats of that and then give it a few coats of clear coat.
Is the clearcoat peeling, or is it faded, or what?
Sorry no before pics. The clear coat was pretty much shot to hell.
But today I started to tackle it. I sanded it down with 220 to get all the crap off, then 320, then 420. Got that baby smooth as a baby's bottom.
So far about 7 coats of black trim and bumper paint has been applied and it looks awesome! I'm letting it dry overnight and then giving it a few coats of clear coat tomorrow.
So far, so good! Loving the way she looks and really gives the rear end of my X less of a "crap *** sorry tired" look.
