Arrow First ford need some help with carb and carb id

I've been looking online and searching the forum I have a 1980 f150 4x4 with a 302 auto trans I just bought the truck a week ago I was going to rebuild the carb but there is no tag on it. It isa motorcraft 2150 I think but it has 1.21 stamped on the side. Which is the venturi size I assume. Now is this the correct carb for the truck? The carb had areas plugged and even the dang kick down rod off. The truck was running fine then got water in the tank when i filled up at a crap hole service station and started to run like crap. but anyways. Is this truck supposed to have the 1.08 venturi? Is it supposed to have all the pvc and/or electronic choke because it has neither.... thanks for the help.

Welcome to the forum, Coalminerwillis!

No, the "1.21" is not correct for your truck. And it is too big for a 5.0/302. That size carburetor was used on the 351 and 400 engines.

Yes, the correct carburetor for your truck would be the "1.08" venturi model Motorcraft 2150.

The Autolite 2100/4100 and later Motorcraft 2150 carburetors are the BEST carburetors ever made. They were used for about 25 years by Ford and even AMC and Chrysler used these carburetors in the late 1980s. They are very simple and extremely reliable. With a working choke and the stock thermostatic air cleaner in place, driveability is flawless. They are the closest thing you can get to electronic fuel injection. Seriously.

The stock 1.08 carburetor would have had the PCV valve connection on the back of the carburetor.

These carburetors used a thermostatic "hot air" choke with an "electric assist" choke cap. The thread below will explain it in more detail and show you how to hook it back up:

Thank you for the reply. I rebuilt the carb today, got it back on the truck and it's running and idling very good. Someone must of put that carb on the truck. Dose it matter if I run it since it's running good or should I look for another 2150 with a 1.08 venturi? Again thanks for the info, I could really use it.

As long as it's running good, run it. Most of these carbs by 1980 were emissions carbs, if yours runs a littlle richer because it was made for a larger engine, that might be a good thing.
