1994 Ranger fuel tank

I need to replace the fuel tank on my 1994 ranger. When I look at fuel tanks online, I see that they are divided into "thru 8/94" and "from 9/94" models. Does anyone know how I find out which type of tank my truck needs?

has to do with the vin I believe, my 94 is a late 93 build. Look on he firewall forget where exactly and there is a metal tag that gives date of construction.

FWIW, The tank on my '94 is plastic and I don't expect they go bad often. Salvage yards are probably full of good used ones.
