Replace Grease Boots & Fittings 2000 F-250

Vehicle: F-250 2000 7.3L Crewcab Lariat 2WD - 192,000 miles

I was under the truck replacing the oil filter this weekend. Reckoned I'd lube the zerk fittings while I was under there. D'oh! The grease fittings on the steering linkage for my 15 yr old truck are frozen shut and the grease boots are looking old & cracked too.

Near as I can tell there are four grease fittings & boots on the steering linkage. My shop manual doesnt cover replacing grease boots & fittings so I dont know grease fitting thread size nor even if it's SAE or metric.

I'm assuming the Ingredients List I'll need are four grease boots, four grease fittings and four cotter pins. I have tools and grease gun/ flexi-hose.

Can any folks on here tell me what size grease fittings I'll need? Also, would NAPA or Advance Auto have the grease boots or do I have to get raped at the Ford dealer?

Thanks,
Catch

Not sure on the size of grease fittings, but one of those zirk variety packs is nice to have (metric and SAE).

I used these boots on my tie rod ends.

I was replacing my drag link at the time, so I used the boots it came with, but Im fairly sure all 4 are the same size.

-sorry, just saw you had a 2wd. I dont think those will work.

Are you certain your tie rods are not loose? I use the two man method of having a helper turn the wheel back and forth while im underneath the front checking. Mine are all getting replaced now at 114K miles and my boots still look good. I would hate to have to do the job twice.
