Question cargo safety

Can anyone tell me how to make cargo safe in the back of a 2003 Expedition. I have the third row and even when folded down, it brings the cargo up too high. Shouldn't there be anchors or a sunshade...thanks.

Go buy a "Bed Web" made for a small truck (ie Toyota). Then go to a fabric store and buy a large sheet of black felt (or one that matches the color of your interior). Put the felt down and then put on the bed web. The felt will stop the reflections and provide you some security. The Bed Web will keep the felt from fly around and will also keep items from shifting. It works!

Thanks Mike. I was looking more towards something that would hold the cargo in place in the event of an accident, or roll or worse.

cargo safety

I mounted several marine stainless steel padeyes in the rear floor so that I could tie ropes, hook bungee cords, etc. to keep things down in the event of a minor offroad excursion or a minor accident. Nothing will keep cargo from flying in a major accident. Put heaviest items on bottom and forward behind seat back.

If you use the same seat configuration all the time, you could install a clear, 1/2" Lexan barrier between cargo space and rearmost seat, tied in to roof, floor , sides with strong steel reinforcing for the edges. Expensive, but what price safety?
