17 in rims on 1976 F250 4x4
My '76 F-250 came with 7.50 x 16 tires on 16" diameter split rims. These rims were an option that allowed the use of tube-type tires. These rims were considered a safety risk and subsequently discontinued.
The standard tires were either 8.75 x 16.5 or 9.50 x 16.5 tubeless tires on 6.75 x 16.5 and 8 x 16.5 rims respectively.
I have also seen 17" split rims on some late 60's and early 70's F-250's.
On F-100's & F-150's used 15" rims, but then again I have also seen 16" rims on some late 60's and early 70's F-100's.
There was a lot more production variations on those trucks than there is on the newer trucks.
