I'm putting a 76 heavy duty dana 44(large hubs) under my 69 crewcab, I need to get new ball joints for it, and there asking is it the 3500 or 4500 lb axle???They have no listing for the 4500 which i assume is the HD axle???
Where can i go for these parts
In the owner's manual for my '76 F-250 4x4 which has a Dana 44HD (large dia. hubs) it is listed as a 3,600 lb. axle. I believe that any heavier axle rating would require a Dana 60.
I personally have never seen a Dana 60 front axle under a highboy, but that does not necessarily mean that Ford did not produce some.
