I am looking at buy a 74 F-250 4X4 (highboy), brand new (built) 460 with only 1,000 miles on it, 4 spd, with 35" Goodyear MTR's with 75% tread on chrome spoke rims, lockers front and rear with a Corprate 14 bolt under the rearend (he kept breaking the pinions on the Dana 60). The truck is basically rust free, only a little minor surface rust on one fender. It was a stock class pulling truck for the last 12 years, but has also been street driven (on the weekends) the last 5 years and owned by a buddy of mine who is also a ASE master mech for about 6 years. He is asking $4,500 for it. Is this a good price??? Let me know what else you guys think!! Thanks Paul
OK, I was a little miss informed about the truck, I was finally able to get a hold of the owner and here is the correct info on it. It is a 74 F-250 4X4 with a 76 body, comes with 385 hp 390 CI motor with 3,000 miles and 9 runs down the pulling track, 4 spd tranny, new dual friction clutch, 33" BFG's with 50% tread, still has the Corp. 14 bolt rear but he has the orginal Dana 60 and also has a Dana 44HD with disc brakes (both go with the truck). The body is still the same as I talked about earlier, and the interior needs a new seat cover and floor mats. But here is the real kicker... He wants $2,500 for it. I am thinking that I am going to get it!!! What do you think???? Thanks for the input..
