Anyone willing to donate a fuel tank Mixing Chamber?
I've just completed what some have called a forensic tear down of a stock fuel pump (link below), and one of the issues investigated was the mesh size of the pump's internal screen inside the suction end. It has also been suggested that it would be interesting to know the screen mesh size inside the mixing chamber in the tank as a comparison to the one in the fuel pump.
I'm more than willing to reimburse someone the cost of shipping me a donor mixing chamber so I can measure the screen mesh to see how it compares to the one in the pump. All three of my PSD's have already gone through the in-tank mods, so I simply don't have one on hand myself.
Just let me know if you have one and are willing to donate, and we'll work out the logistics offline.
I found mine in a box a month ago when I was having fuel pressure problems, I think I'm going to take screens out of it and put the chamber back in the tank, but if you want just the screens you can have them. PM me an address if you want them and I'll send them to you.
Once again im a day late to the party...
Just dug one out of the grass yesterday while cleaning up the yard... surprised the heck out of me that one didnt make it into the burn pile lol.

If you turn out to need it let me know.
Otherwise...
Burn pile lmao!
As soon as I have one in hand, I'll post up. Thanks.
I looked at both and the one in the pump is larger then the mixing chamber screens if I remember correctly, both of mine were plugged up when I dropped my tank, I knocked out the junk in the pump inlet and used it to transfer fuel from my tank to another before I dropped the tank. I put a clean set of screens in mine, and it ran great for 2 years... then it started sucking air at 1/4 tank. Now that the motor is apart it is pretty far down the list of priorities.

When you talk about the "pump inlet" screen, you must be referring to the screen in the plastic pickup foot inside the tank as opposed to the wire cloth screen that is actually inside the pump. There is no way to get the screen out of the pump without destroying the outer pump housing. As for the screen in the pickup foot, yes, its mesh is much larger... probably on the order of something like 1/16" openings.
