Sorry if this is a stupid question or has been answered elsewhere (haven't been able to find using search), but what years interchange with a 69 F100 (cab) and F250 chassis? I need some pieces for inside the cab like door panels and maybe dash components, and also need to find a fuel tank to mount under the bed (have a fuel cell in the bed right now).
Also, due to my shifter set up, I'm looking at putting a split bench in so I can still haul 3 people in cab and keep my shifters the way they are. Anyone happen to have a measurement on the widths of the 2 sections of a ranger split bench, or possibly other alternatives?
I figure if there's a range of vehicles I can look at it may help me in finding parts.
All the cab stuff is nearly universal. If you are looking for specific parts groupings like **** styles then you need to stick with 68/69. It's when you get to the chassis that the F100 is it's own animal. 67 has always been an odd year for Ford and as such, the door stuff isn't swappable unless you swap the whole door. And the Raleigh NC craigslist or maybe Greensboro has a F250 Camper Special second tank for sale.
68-72 f100-f350 and even some of the bigger trucks like f600 will have parts you can use for the cab of your truck. basically everything is compatable after 67 as it has lots of oddball 1 year only stuff. On the topic of bench seats you can pick up a set of seats out of a ford truck up until 96 or 98 and they will be a almost bolt in type of deal. So try to find a split bench you like and mount er up.
Thanks guys for the excellent input. I'm looking at a smaller bench because, as you can see, the shifter(s) have been relocated next to the drivers seat and I'd like to leave it there since its kinda unique. I really just need a split bench that allows me about 6" between the driver and passenger sections. I figured a ranger split bench should work nicely.
The 67 door panels will not interchange, and that great big factory aux tank on the 2wd F250 won't fit a 4x4. Those twin sticks need to be moved fwd or you are sticking with buckets.
Outboard frame fuel tanks can be found at wrecking yards. I just gave one away. There are a few different options for in frame tanks where your spare tire bolts in. Basically, everything above the frame on any bumpside is interchangeable but the 67 is a red headed stepchild.
