Anyone else feeling sick about their '09-'14 now? or just me?

Let me get it out of the way, I absolutely LOVE my 2013 F-150, FX4, EcoBoost. It is in everyway possible the BEST truck I've ever owned and driven (And I've owned and driven a ton over the last two decades)

But now that the 2015 has been revealed (At first I did not like the look) but now looking at my truck in the driveway, I can't believe how in such a short period of time, the truck went from looking so advanced, and current and also on par with everything else on the market (biased opinion of course) I still feel the current '09-'14 F-150's still are the best looking overall in the industry, especially '13+models.

Now it seems, my '13 that is still just only two-months new to me, and with barely just 4K miles, now looks extremely dated compared to the all new version. One thing that struck me right away is how much I REALLY wanted those '13 HID's on the FX4 model, and now as of this week HID's have officially become "Old School" now that all the new cars/ trucks will have LED headlamps.

More than that, I've decided the new model looks much more masculine than the outgoing models, even in full blacked-out, PTM, 2014, FX4 trims, even the 2015 XLT looks beefier and more "Truck-Like" I guess. I won't be trading or selling this 2013 off anytime soon, but I must admit, while I do love it, I'm also kind of bummed at how lame it's going to look parked next to the new mini SuperDuty looking 2015 F-150. It almost reminds me how when Ford came out with the then new 2004, F-150 back in 2003, but also sold the outgoing 2003 bodystyle for a year along side the all new version, dubbed the "Classic" that truck looked soooooo dated in comparison, because the 2004 was such a dramatic shift, like this 2015 is to the 2009-2014 trucks.

Sometimes I just hate that about Ford, for instance Chevy calls their truck "All new" for 2014, but parked next to the old GMT900 2013 model, only an enthusiast can point out the new Chevy. Even Ram when they when from the old 2008 to the 2009, it wasn't that dramatic of a change aesthetically.

Pics just to lift me up.

I do like the 2015, but I dislike as much about it as I like.
I'm absolutely in LOVE with my Plat. I cannot wait to leave the office, turn on the seat heater and watch the MPG climb as I set the cruise on the way home. Beating it around town the last two weeks already has me beating my average in the 2006 and I'm running 87 octane instead of the 89 octane in the 2006 (because of tune).

Just added Putco LEDs yesterday to get a color match with the HIDs and my full Bedrug liner was ordered earlier today. I'm just about set with this truck and I'm excited to see what the next 10 years brings me with her.

I love the look of my '13. The new '15 is awesome looking as well, but the aesthetics aren't enough to convince me. What I would like are the new 2.7 ecoboost, the grill block, and the LED headlights.

Yeah I'm not 100% sold on the 2015 looks either, but it does in my opinion make the current truck look 10 years old by design. I'm not one that has to have the latest of everything, I'm still using an iphone4s and I'm 100% content with that until it breaks lol.

I was just hoping the changes on the new model would not have been as polarizing or radical. As an example, I love my OEM, HID's (Way better than the halogen's in my 2011, F-150) but I fear the coast to replace the HID bulbs when the burn out will be insane, since the tech is dying out in favor of LED headlights etc..

2.7 EcoBoost is appealing as well, especially if it's gear high numerically like 3.73 or 4.10 etc...

Ain't gonna happen lol. The wife will put me and the truck out if that happens. Plus I never, and let me repeat EVER buy any first year model of anything. If I buy another it will be well into the 3rd or 4th model year, or at the refresh or introduction of newer, better motors.

HA HA HA HA HA HA HA!!!!! I've had my truck for 2 weeks now & I saw the new F-150 on TV a couple nights ago. I said to my wife "Huh, that sure is a nice looking truck." and her response was "DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT IT!"

I REALLY like my FX4, but I agree that as soon as the pictures started surfacing of the new F-150 some of the magic of my new truck instantly wore off. Which pisses me off!!! Cuz this it my 1st new vehicle & this 2015 is making the newness wear off prematurely!

Yup, I hear you all, I went from a 73 F250 Camper Special that I dearly loved, to a 91 F150 super cab, drove it for several years and absolutely HATED the way to new 97's looked, I was actually upset. Then about 4 years later bought a used 2001 F150 in 2002, with 22K on the clock. It ended up being the best pick up that I've owned.
We traded her in on the also used 2011 this last September, and I had to have it when I seen it on line. It's a great truck, super crew, 5.0 nicely loaded XLT with Chrome pkg, XLT Convenience pkg, and now I see this new 2015, maybe I should have waited a few month's a year. Wife and CFO (Same Person) have already Veto'd that bill. I didn't even get to show it to the board, she's on there too.

Enjoy your truck! The new '15 looks great, but there are a lot of questions to it. Body is mostly aluminum..........potential problems? And, the truck on the web is a Platinum with all the bells and whistles...........bet it goes for $60K! Be happy with what you got and enjoy the ride!

Got my oil changed this morning and I kicked some tires. My ancient 2011 is looking more attractive the closer I get to payoff.

My wife wants anedge to replace the expy. Looks like a 2016 f150 could be in the future

Two small details I really like about the new 2015, and I don't mean to turn this into a +2015 thread. But I'm so glad they went back to a smooth, less cluttered tailgate design. I always loved the smooth tailgate look on both the '97 & '04 generations.

I almost didn't buy my 1st '11 F-150 because the ribs in the tailgate not only look awful, but make putting letters for a company name etc.. extremely tacky looking.

I never liked the '09 Platinum tailgate either (I mean no disrespect to Platy owners) I actually loved the Platinum interior, but could not live with that hideous IMO tailgate trim.

For some reason, I am totally on love with the '15+ Platinum tailgate trim. Perfectly acents that tailgate, extremely well.

I also am liking the new F-150 font for the emblems, and it looks as if they made the EcoBoost bages, less smug, meaning less ECOBOOST looking lol .

I think you have to wait at least into the 3rd or 4th model run. The manufactures never sort everything out in one year, their still on vacation from raking in all the revenue from those that pay MSRP or more for the first year models, because they got to have it.

It's not useually until late into the second year, they start taking notice to all the complaints from Internet forums, service depts and surveys that someone says "hey I think we need to look into this issue"

Again (no disrespect to early '09-'12) owners, I owned a 2011, XLT I loved dearly. But I feel Ford perfected the truck for MY2013, then added the icing on the cake for '14. Then hit the ball out of the park for MY2015, or we will see for sure when it is publicly released in the fall.

FWIW, the tailgate trim is just a panel that's adhered to the standard, and painted, tailgate You easily have a Platinum without the tailgate trim

Yep, that'll be the ticket! But, I have to say, I'm with old Pool on the '15s - so far, I just love them! Looks, body, engine choices, oh me! If, if, mind ye, I have the lucres about this time next year, I'll be in one! Unfortunately, a big IF! But I do like them that much.
