Oil collecting behind alternator on the intake valley
I have a 98 expedition E/B with the 5.4 and it runs great however I was looking over the motor and it looks like I have oil collecting behind the alternator on the intake valley....I have searched online for a while but not finding anything other if there is a leak on the rear passenger side or the front driver side it is more likely a head gasket but i have not seen anything about a leak on the front passenger side where my is
Im just wondering if anyone else has had a leak in this area and if so what do i need to check or any info on this issue at all would be great or if anyone has a link to this issue that too would be helpful
Okay to be more specific, it actually comes from the valve cover, through where the upper and lower intakes mate, then spills down into the valley below the upper intake.
here are the pics i took showing the location in the 3rd pic where the yellow arrow is there is a little pipe going to the lower intake or block I don't know what it is just wondering if that could be where the oil is coming from
I cleaned it up as good as i could today AFTER pics and i am not seeing any leaks cracks or damage anywhere
