TSB sticker on trans pan
I just finished up my first tranny fluid change on my 98 expy 4X4. Pretty easy stuff, although a hoist would of been nice. Question for the forum, after I dropped the pan, I noticed a red sticker on the back of the pan (aft side of the pan). This was not visable from the undercage as it was tucked up under the crossmember, you could only see it with the pan off.
The sticker read "TSB 97-17 void after 1/31/98 and it had a number to call. Does this mean it has been serviced for this TSB?

Ok GW - I checked out the TSB in question from the Ford factory DVD. It's pretty vague - it says that certain transmissions, for one reason or another, were flagged, and that a certain diagnostic procedure is required prior to servicing the transmission. Chances are, the issue has been taken care of, but go ahead and call the number and see what's up. The number I have here is 1-800-551-0692.

Called 1-800-551-0692 that was on the sticker. No longer in service. The message did redirect to another number. When I contacted the new 1-800 number it asked for a 9 digit oasis number so I assume this was a "dealer" hotline of source. So no new info ...............................
