Wont Start

For several weeks I have had problems starting my 2000 5.4l Expedition. It will crank but it will not start. Sometimes unlocking and locking the doors with the remote will do something and then the engine will fire up. I just changed the spark plugs and had the engine running. Turned it off, then tried to start it and it would crank but wouldn't start up. Why is it doing this. Thanks

did you try a different key? bad chip would make it not start.

Strange. Try disconnecting the battery for 20 minutes to reset the PCM.

I second Buzzard's suggestion. I had that problem once about 1.5 years back. I think the little transmitter chip just wasn't working - I thought it was the battery, but after I locked and unlocked it (while I went in the house) it worked fine. Hasn't given me trouble since.
