2001 Expedition idle/stall problems (5.4)
I purchased on 01 expedition to have around as a workhorse. The car seems to be in pretty good shape over all (125K miles, good interior, drives great, etc...) BUT, it wants to stall everytime that you come to a stop sign, slow down for a corner, etc and then ONLY when less than 1/2 tank of gas.
Initially replaced the fuel pump and IAC and cleaned the throttle body with some cleaner as they seem to be the standard culprits. Did not seem to make any change. At times the idle will jump from 7-750 up to 12-1400 and drop back down. Most of the time it sits right at about 7/800.
No problems starting it right back up and it runs fine after start up until the next intersection and again, only when it is less than 1/2 on gas. the fuel pump pressure was tested and was within normal ranges after installation.
Any ideas. I assume it is likely some sort of small valve/sensor or possibly vacuum type issue but vacuum lines are not something I am as familiar with and I do not have a tester. I am pretty handy though so If I have an idea how to fix it I can general take care of stuff.
Thanks
