Hi, I am new here. I realize that there have been a lot of threads and discussions here about transmission issues, but here goes another. I have a 2009 F150 5.4 Lariat CC 4x4 6speed 3.73 max trailer tow. The problems that I am having with the trans have been issues since new and now the truck had 89,600 miles. It is my dad's truck and he mostly drives it but I have been driving it more lately and I am fed up with the transmission. I have a 2004 5.4 4x4 3.73 4spd and like it better. Note ALL of these issues have been since NEW and complaints were made at the dealer multiple times and they kept insisting that nothing was or is wrong. Of course now it is LONG out of warranty. Just before the warranty expired it had the infamous bulk head connector leak and after a lot of arguing with two dealers it was fixed. So for the other issues. The trans has never shifted correctly or smoothly. The whole time that you are accelerating the truck is giving you a pulsating feeling that is coming from the trans NOT the motor. Seems that what ever is causing this is also hindering proper shifting. It never know what gear it is in and seems like the converter is not always locked when you need it or the trans is in WAY to high of a gear. You will tach rpms WAY up and get no response. Yes it is some better in tow/haul mode. Also has the clunk when you come to a complete stop which I felt was the trans being slow dropping back in to 1st gear but there has been talk of the two piece drive shaft causing this feeling. The truck is the longest wheelbase with the 6.5' bed. Just wondering if there is anything at all that I could do to correct or atleast help these issues? Seems to me that the issue lies in a design/mechanical flaw rather than a computer issue. But I am open to all recommendations. I previously had a 2008 6.4 powerstroke that I had some trans issues with that I could never get the dealer to do anything about and I honestly think that a reprogram would have taken care of. Just wondering everybody's thoughts on this F150 issue. Thanks for your help.
