That strange 60 to 65 MPH vibration towing my boat

I have a 2103 F150(5500 miles) and a 2013 Ranger Z522 bass boat( 23'-4800 lbs 3000 miles). I get that ole strange vibration between 60 and 65 when towing) My tire dealer balanced all 8 wheels for me. I tried to get my truck to do it by itself but did not notice. It does not do it all the time. I'm going to say about 1/2 the time it does it and then it will not. It only does it at that speed range which to me at one time was a wheel balance problem. When it does it i can see the head of my trolling motor on my boat vibrate with it. I did try to give the truck a little power to see if it effects it. It did not. I did this because back in the 80's i had a truck that the drive shaft was a little out of balance. Power to the drive chain would effect it enough that you could notice. I've tried to get the truck to do it by itself but can't. Anyone got any secrets that might help me.

The only thing that I have read to help that is changing the pinion angle of your driveshaft. The other thing that will help is installing the RAS which will not allow the truck to sag enough to change your pinion angle when you have the boat loaded. One guy on another site added a leaf to his rear springs that also took care of the problem for him (axle wrap).

I am in the same "boat" as you and will either be adding another leaf to my springs or the RAS system.

Has anyone used one of the RAS systems on a 2013 F150? My previous truck was an Expidition with self leveling air suspension. It handled the boat and trailer much better than the F150.

Hi ARK Ranger,

I want to look into this and check out some options to assist. Shoot me a PM with your information and I'll get to work; be sure to include your VIN, dealer, mileage, daytime phone number, and full name.

Heheheeee, old ARK didn't get the PM part. It's okay, ARK, you are safe with me! Anyway, oh me, I'm so wanting a new truck. It seems now that F150's main problem is this shuddering at various speeds - I can stand a heap o' things, but not nary vibrating, shuddering and otherwise non smooth riding truck.

My tires on my F150 say max psi 44. I'm running 36 in each. (18" WHEELS) Could this be some of my problem. My truck and boat pull so smooth at 66 to 70 it is funny!!!

ARK, from all me forum reading, I'm saying its between ye transmission and differential. Now, I know that's a heap of a long way, but it seems most of these shuddering, vibrating problems are somewhere in the drive shaft area, not wheels. Now, he, I could be wrong, but it would be rare...

If you think it could be your tires...you could always have someone road force balance them. I did that with mine and it made no difference. I am also running 35 psi which is the recommended pressure on the door jam.

I also have the 60 to 65 vibration problem.I hooked up my cycle trailer the other day with a 300lb cycle on it and pulled from Seattle to Vancouver Wa.
shook in the floor most of the trip. Now have a complaining wife.
I have a 2012 Lariat with 373 axle.

Ark Ranger, I have the same issue although mine seems like more of a bounce. I just posted a thread called utility trailer bounce. Whenever I tow my quad on my 6x10 utility trailer I get the vibration/bounce from 62 mph on up. My truck does not drive out of it, and my previous super duty did not do this. Its driving me nuts. I don't know if its shocks (factory junk) or springs. Please let me know what you find out. My truck is a 2013 f150 4x4 5.0 screw 5 1/2
bed 3.55 e locker rears with 7700 gvw package.
