Has anybody successfully did a swap on the gas pedal? Tried to remove the rod/pin holding the plastic rectangular piece but will not budge. Soaked it with some PB blaster and tried hammering it out but will not move at all. I can't use any heat since it will probably destroy the plastic piece.
The hardest part I think is trying to remove the rod/pin on the Excursion since it can't be hammered out without destroying the whole gas pedal assembly.
Any ideas on how I can accomplish this swap? I just can't do a simple gas pedal assembly swap since my Ex has the adjustable pedal. The F250 is a regular one.
Been driving the Ex with a broken gas pedal for 2 years now and its time to get it fixed. Not certain how the previous owner managed to break this pedal.
Looking at the splines on the pin I would say it is a tall order to remove that pin! That looks to be a high interference fit from experience. Have you tried using a hydraulic press?
